A minor accident occurred on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, involving a Turkish Airline aircraft and a Max Air plane. One of the wings of the Turkish Airline plane collided with that of a Max Air plane which had flown in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
It was gathered that the Turkish Airline aircraft had landed safely but as it taxied to a stop at the airport’s apron, its wing collided with that of Max Air which resulted in minor damages to both airplanes.
According to a report by an online news portal, the Spokesman, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, who confirmed the incident, however, said damages to the aircraft belonging to both airlines were minor and that the planes have been taken away for repairs.
It would be recalled that a similar incident occurred last year in Jos, Plateau State, when an Arik plane’s wing brushed an Air force jet parked at the apron as the plane was taxiing to stop. There was also no casualty in the incident but only damages to both planes.
