Trouble In Assemblies Of God Church As Members Did This To Newly Transferred Pastor

There was trouble in the Assemblies of God Church, Mount Street, Agbani-Road in Enugu State yesterday, Sunday, September 11.
Assembly-of-God-Church
Vanguard reports that trouble started two months ago when a new pastor as transferred to the branch of the church. This, did not go well with a faction of the church branch as they protested and engaged one another in a free-for-all following the alleged transfer of a new pastor to the church.
However, to ward off the impending clash, the worshipers were directed by the police in the state to hold separate services (according to their faction) outside the compound, till the issue will be solved. The church members paired themselves and consequently, divided the church compound into two, where the rival groups erected canopies for the church services while the main church auditorium was locked.
It however seemed that one of the groups got the chance to use the main church auditorium yesterday, for church service. This got members of the other faction angry since it was agreed that no one is eligible to use the auditorium till court delivers judgment on the matter. Talking to journalists, the pastor that was allegedly transferred out from the branch, Rev. Agbo, said trouble started on July 19, ”when one man in my church, who claims to be a lawyer, but is championing illegality and unlawfulness imported Nathan Udeze to come and overthrow me, so we resisted them that day.
“The matter went to police and from there to court; the police advised us to lock the church and we did; we started worshiping outside; they went to court for us to open the church for them; they have not allowed the court to decide the case. They came on last Monday and broke the entrance to our school; then today again, they came and broke the church entrance, contrary to the agreement we reached with the police that we will wait for the court to decide.”
Expressing anger with the way the police handled the matter, Agbo went on: “I called the DPO to inform him that these people have broken into the church, he told me that we should see him by 2 p.m., that we should maintain peace. I don’t know what he means by that. These people broke into the school and today into the church and the police are watching them.”
On the claim that he had been transferred out of the church, he said: “I am still in charge of this place; I came here on April 12, 2013 and till date, I remain the senior pastor in charge of this church branch.”
Meanwhile, hell was let loose recently at the United Methodist Church, in the Oshodi area of Lagos when the church members chased out their pastor from the pulpit.  Also, a South African pastor, Pastor Peniel, is popularly known for a number of strange acts. He had fed his congregation live snake. He had turned human hair into food for the consumption of the church members.

MASSOB insists on Sept 13 celebration

… Police arrest members,  for inciting violence
…Court remands 11 in prison
From Paul Osuji, Asaba, Emmanuel Uzor, Abakaliki and Emmanuel Ogoigbe, Warri
Despite police clampdown, Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB) has declared there is no going back on the September 13 Biafran Day celebration across Igboland.
Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, has ordered the immediate arrest of any person or group inciting violence and social disorder across the country.
Ebonyi South Zonal Leader of MASSOB, Mr. John Nwifuru told newsmen in Abakaliki yesterday, that the movement would not be dissuaded or cowed by various federal might which he said were all aimed at intimidating them to abandon the struggle.
He warned there could be reprisal on the side of MASSOB if the Federal Government did not stop further attack and intimidation of their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and members of MASSOB.
But Arase explained that there is an operational order that empowers the police to arrest anybody fomenting any act of violence or disorder, or any act inimical to the security of the nation. He said: “So far the following arrest have been made; Anambra State – four ; Imo – six ; Delta – 11 and Abia – one.”
The IGP further warned that persons so arrested for inciting violence, irrespective of their class or status in the society would be charged to court accordingly.
Meanwhile, scores of tmembers of the movement, yesterday staged a protest in Warri, demanding for the unconditional release of their leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and over 20 members of the body arrested Sunday in Owerri Imo State by security operatives.
The embittered members who marched through some streets in warri metropolis, pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the matter before it gets out of hand.
The protesters who carried placards with several inscriptions “Release our leader (Uwazuruike) and 20 other members arrested along with him”, We are a non-violent group, rather, we are fighting for our right peacefully”, “We detest oppression”, Buhari should intervene in the matter to save an imminent unpleasant situation”.
Addressing newsmen later, leader of the protesters, Joseph Odikpo, condemned the arrest of their members and alleged that they  have been taken to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, an Asaba Magistrate Court, Delta State yesterday, remanded 11 suspected members of the movement  in prison custody till October 23.
The accused persons were arraigned on a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, taking arms against government, treasonable felony, unlawful society and publishing rumor to cause false alarm.
Their plea was not taken when the charges were read before the case was adjourned to October 23.
The court directed that the case file should be sent to the state Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice.
Spokesperson of Delta State Police Command, DSP Celestina Kalu said the 11 accused persons were the ring leaders of the unlawful group, adding that other suspects including women and children were cautioned and released.

Elechi Snubbed, Booed At Jonathan’s Rally In Ebonyi

Elechi Snubbed, Booed At Jonathan’s Rally In Ebonyi

Governor of Ebonyi State, Martin Elechi, was conspicuously left in the cold during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential campaign rally for President Goodluck Jonathan in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Friday.
The governor, who has lost control of the PDP structure in his state, was not given an opportunity to speak at the rally, which held at the Abakaliki Township Stadium, as is the tradition.
He was slated to speak on item nine of the official programme of the rally, but for undisclosed reasons, he was ignored throughout the event, where the National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Muazu, handed the flag of the party to the party’s governorship candidate in the state, Dave Umahi, who also happens to be Elechi’s deputy.
Elechi’s loyalists, who did not participate in the primaries that produced Umahi as the governorship candidate of the PDP, had reportedly moved to the Labour Party.
The governor was also booed at the event by a section of the crowd, which turned out for the rally.
But the unruly behavior of the crowd had prompted the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Sam Egwu, to speak up for Elechi, urging everybody to remember that the governor remained the leader of the party in the state and therefore deserved respect.
Speaking at the rally, Egwu said, “We have a leader in this state and why Ebonyi is one is that they are peaceful people; they are people that respect culture; they are people that respect authority; they are people that when their leaders speak, they hear him.
“I want to ask you please, no matter your personal grievances, we have a governor that is in charge of the state. He is our governor and you must, as a matter of principle and authority, respect him.
“Forget whatever are your personal grievances; the governor is the governor of this state and he is our governor and you must give him all the respect he deserves.
“If you are somebody, who has personal grievances, take it outside this place. We have Nigerians before us here; we have the President of the country before us here. So, please, I plead with you”.
Speaking at the rally, President Jonathan promised that if voted into office for a second term, he would upgrade infrastructure, institutions and industries within the state.
Stating that the Abaliki rice was already popular, the president said “What we want to do is to improve on our farming, the quality of our produce, cassava and so on. It will surely key into our rice revolution.
“We will develop young men and women that will go into commercial agriculture. We must work with people in Ebonyi State to encourage small and medium scale industries. That is the only thing we will do to create to job. Ebonyi State luckily has a lot of minerals. With the drop in the oil price, government will surely diversify the economy. Solid minerals and agriculture are some of these areas that we will go in”.

Why You Must Not Vote For PDP In 2015

Why You Must Not Vote For PDP In 2015

Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole wants Nigerians to reject the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels in next year’s general elections. This is because he believes Nigerians will remain in darkness as long as the PDP remains in power.
Oshiomole, who spoke, yesterday, while receiving about 2,000 members of the PDP from Oredo and Egor Local Government Areas of the state led by Mr. Festus Oviawe and Igbe Kingsley respectively into the APC, said that the choice before the people in the next elections was a very clear one, a choice between darkness and change.
“In the last 16 years, Edo State gained nothing from the PDP besides the resurfacing of the Ofosu-Benin Road and the attempt at the dualisation of the Okene-Benin Road, with all its imperfections, which they were forced to embark on after we cried out that how could they dualise the road from Abuja and stop abruptly in Okene without extending it to Edo.
“In 16 the last years, after spending over $25 billion, we have no light. Now they have shared the electricity companies to their friends and associates. For as long as they remain in power, Nigerians will remain in darkness. Our companies will remain shut and the economy will be subjected to the vagaries of instability of the international oil market,” he said.
The governor, while further giving reasons why the PDP must not be voted in 2015, accused President Goodluck Jonathan of abandoning Edo State after getting the people’s votes.
“He got 95 percent vote from Edo State. What has he done in Edo, what has he done in Benin City? The Queen Edo erosion was caused by the Federal Government and I had written several letters to them to fix their mess, yet they ignored us and gave money to Delta and Kogi states.
“See the newly refurbished airport in Benin. I was there and the roof was leaking during the rain. Is that the kind of government we still want in Nigeria? No way. For too long, across Nigeria, PDP has buffeted us with, lies, empty promises, both at the political level and economic front and every day they have run short of lies and they have run short of excuses,” Oshiomole said.

EBOLA: Salt Water Kills Three In Bauchi State

EBOLA: Salt Water Kills Three In Bauchi State

At least three people have been reported to have died, while a pregnant woman also landed in hospital, as a result of excessive intake of salt for the prevention of Ebola Virus in Bauchi State.
According to Vanguard report, an old man in Misau local council and three other adults in Bigi , Gudum Sayawa, and Bayara village, suburbs in Bauchi, northern Nigeria, were the victims of the salt intake exercise.

An unnamed source was quoted to have said that one of the deceased, Mr. Paul Bigi, 74, drank more than two cups of salted water and also rub some on his body after bathing with the salt water as advised by his children.
“Less than one hour after he took the salt water, Baba started deficating non-stop and he died in the morning around 7am,” the source said.
Also in Gumdum Sayawa, it was gathered that one John Ayuba made use of one bag of salt in one drum of water for bathing and one bag of salt in another drum of water for drinking due to large number of people living in his house.
A family source informed that Ayuba died of diarrhea and vomiting moments later.
Meanwhile, a health worker who did not want his name published, at the Bayara Specialist Hospital informed that a hypertensive patient drank three glasses of water filled with salt.
He said: “A hypertensive patient who drank three classes of salt water was brought by his relatives to our hospital. He did not survive the crisis as his blood level has exceeded the normal range”
In Gudum Sayawa, a pregnant woman, Mrs. Hanatu Kushi, was said to have a miscarriage after taking salt solution.
Mrs Kushi is said to be currently being treated at a private hospital in the area.
When contacted, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Sani Malami, denied reports of outbreak of Ebola in the state, saying the rumour was to create unnecessary panic.
He advised the citizens of the state to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases of severe fever to the nearest health facility, assuring that adequate measures have been put in place to treat infected persons.

The Ebola virus is believed to have killed no fewer than three people in Lagos since its outbreak in Nigeria in July via Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer.
According to Nigerian Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, 11 people have been confirmed to have contracted the deadly disease while more than hundred of others are being monitored for symptoms of the Ebola virus.
The World Health Organisation, WHO, says at least 1069 people have died of the virus since February this year.
Nigerians and citizens of Guinea, Sierre Leone and Liberia have been advised to wash their hands regularly and avoid contact with animals like monkey, bats, antelopes e.t.c to avoid contracting the Ebola virus.

Imo 2015: Ararume Sets Campaign Ball Rolling, Appoints Ogunewe Campaign Director

Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primaries in Imo State, one of the major contestants, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, has appointed Hon. Independence Ogunewe as his campaign director.
Ararume also appointed a former senatorial candidate and businessman, Chief Okey Ikoro, as the deputy director general, to ensure his victory at the 2015 general election.
Ararume, in a statement signed by his political adviser, Mr Chinedu Nwogwugwu and made available to journalists in Abuja yesterday, said the appointment of Mr. Ogunewe had sent shock waves down the spine of other aspirants from Mbaise clan, which comprises three local governments.

Ebola Drug Made By Nigerian To Benefit 8 Infected Persons

Ebola Drug Made By Nigerian To Benefit 8 Infected Persons

Eight out of the Nigerians infected with the deadly Ebola disease will benefit from an experimental treatment in Lagos, Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu has announced.
Chukwu, who made the announcement, today at a world press conference in Abuja, said a Nigerian scientist has offered Nigeria the drug, ‘NanoSilver’, for testing on those infected with the virus, following the approval by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that experimental treatments are ethical in the case of a pandemic.
“A Nigerian scientist has offered Nigeria an experimental drug, hopefully today, that will reach the treatment centre,” Chukwu said.
Although the health minister declined mentioning the name of the scientist, he assured that the health ministry will ensure that the drug is applied in line with international best practice.
The US had earlier sent experimental drug ZMapp to Liberia after President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf requested for the drug. Canada has also promised to donated 1,000 vaccines to the affected countries.
Speaking further, the minister dismissed reports that Eboa has entered Enugu. He said no case of the disease was confirmed in the eastern state.
“A nurse who treated the late Patrick Sawyer disobeyed the Incident Management Committee and traveled to Enugu to visit her husband and was later identified with the symptom. But no one has been infected with the virus in the state apart from Lagos.
“As at today’s morning, we have only six contacts in Enugu who are under surveillance.”

The President also condemned the attacks on two mosques in Potiskum, Yobe State Tuesday.

According to the president, “the callous attacks on soft targets fully affirm that the terrorists are nothing but bloodthirsty adherents of a warped and retrogressive ideology.

“If educated youth cannot get a job, businesses are collapsing and closing, those that have no access to any governmental amenities – electricity, tap water, hospitals, fertilisers, etc are more apt to be poorer. So who is that rich enough to sponsor ‘gunmen’ or ‘herdsmen’ or BH to be rampaging the innocent villages both Muslims and Christians in the north? Men over hundred riding motorcycles carrying AK47s ravaging communities with impunity. I know only one terrorist organisation that is rich enough to sponsor mercenaries to do this dirty work. The M.E.N.D.
1. They have the venom of hatred for all Nigerians especially the north.
2. Their so called ‘ex members’ are enjoying government patronage making millions ‘guarding’ oil pipelines.
3. They have declared GEJ must continue over hell will loose on Nigerians.
4. Theirs misguided provocative statements are met with state silence or even protection. I never heard Abati rebutting Asari. Birds of the same feathers?
Only a dumb person will be then looking for the financial source of these mayhems.
