The Anti Counterfeiting Collaboration (ACC) is set to hold its fifth round table on Thursday, December 5, at the Four Points by Sheraton by 8:30 am. And the theme for this year’s edition is: Fostering Investment By Ensuring Protection of IP Rights & Making the IPCOM Bill A Reality.
According to the Chairman of ACC, Teemac Omatsola Iseli: “ACC Roundtable 2013 is organized in collaboration with the International Trademark Association (INTA). The main objectives of the ACC is to promote Intellectual Property Law reform in Nigeria and to ensure that legislation is updated such that it comparable to international legislation thereby providing greater protection for intellectual property rights.”
He also stated that one of the agreed points of action highlighted in a communique issued at the close of the ACC/INTA Roundtable last year was that a committee be set up to work on the passage of the IPCOM Bill into law.
Expected to grace the event are members of the National Assembly, regulatory agencies, brand owners and IP practitioners.
