Gospel singer, Ify moves up with The Market Place

These are definitely happy times for gospel singer, Ify Chukwu. In the last couple of months, her seven year old business TV programme, The Market Place, which is syndicated on nine television channels in Nigeria has snapped up two awards.
The singer/TV presenter opened up to The Entertainer in an exclusive chat last week in Lagos and she shared her joy describing the awards as the reward for hard work.
“I feel great knowing that the world is watching my programme. The implication is that The Market Place is making impact; I’m overjoyed by these awards. I’m encouraged to continue to strive for more. They are payment for my hard work and dedication,” Ify quipped excitedly.
The Odara singer snapped up the award for The Most Syndicated TV Business Programme on the platform of the Nigerian Media Nite Out Awards 2013, while the second was for The Best Brand & Business TV Programme, courtesy, the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards 2013 (NBMA).
The Market Place hit TV screens in 2007 and is on nine channels across the country discloses Ify: “We are on nine TV stations today and that’s what gave us the award for the most syndicated business programme, The Market Place, which is the most syndicated Business programme in Nigeria. The programme is available on STV, LTV, MITV, TVC, Orient TV Owerri and RSTV Port Harcourt among others.”
According to her, in the next five years, The Market Place would be the reference point for all SME’s in the country including multinationals.
Ify is also the presenter of Heroes, a TV programme which celebrates outstanding Nigerians and D2R Network, a youth based programme on relationships.
To date, her clients include Nora Spices, Valetta wines, Promax, Emily Millionaire, Soulmate and MTN to mention a few.
