From ROMANUS UGWU, Abuja
Russia-based Nigerian forward, Obinna Nsofor has assured Nigerians that he and his Super Eagles teammates are mentally and psychologically ready to confront the Antelopes of Ethiopia for the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier playoff in Addis Ababa this weekend.
Fielding questions from Daily SunSports in Abuja, the former West Ham United striker also revealed that he would bank on the experiences he garnered when he played against them during the Nations Cup qualifiers in 2011 to sink their host.
Nsofor, however, expressed fears of a hostile reception in Addis Ababa, warning his teammates to be ready for bad pitch and extremely harsh weather.
“Having played Ethiopia two year ago, I know the kind of hostile atmosphere we will encounter there. I remember that we had it very tough in that match because the pitch was very horrible and the weather so hostile.
“What will equally help us is the level of concentration and confidence and the high team spirit reigning in the team’s camp now.”
Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow FC Russia winger, Ahmed Musa, had promised to provide the decider goal on Sunday.
“I always try to score in every game I play, both for club and country and I will go extra mile to do so against Ethiopia.
“I know that Nigerians are expecting is outright victory from us against Ethiopia and by the grace of God, we will not disappoint them. We are going to give them victory on Sunday.
