Day Miss Nigeria turned traffic warden
Her presence at Adeola Odeku junction, along Ahmadu Bello Way caused a stir as motorists couldn’t help but admire and wave at the beauty Queen who decided to spend October 1 on the streets of Lagos doing what she describes as community service.
Clad in a pair of denims and sporting a white T-shirt, Ezinne directed traffic for close to an hour under the mid day sun.
Commenting after the exercise, the beauty Queen disclosed that her decision to become a traffic warden on Nigeria’s Independence Day was her way of giving back to society.
According to her: “Traffic is a major problem confronting Lagosians. I decided to come out today to do this because I want to connect with what Lagosians experience on our busy road on a daily basis. This is my own way of giving back to society. At 53 Nigeria is facing serious traffic challenges.”
She also opened up on her celebrity car wash event where she would wash the cars of every day Lagosians for a fee and the proceeds would be dedicated to her pet project, Serve Nigeria, which seeks to create awareness about rape and offer succor to victims.
“Serve Nigeria is my own way of combating sexual harassment. It’s happening everyday and everywhere and people don’t want to talk about it. I personally experienced it when a friend of mine was raped. It was really tough for her as I watched her go through all the stages of recovery,” Akudo said.
The beauty Queen was assisted by the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO), Bar Beach Police Station, Kayoade Adegoke and two policewomen, Inspector Morayo and Corporal Abiola Khadijah.
