Green condemned the continuous attacks of vandals on pipelines and affirmed the deaths of the two workers in the Kaduna-Jos incident. No life was lost in Benin-Warri, where NNPC staff were also repairing damaged pipelines.
Meanwhile, Nigeria expects the international Chair of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) Clare Short to visit next week. Short will hold talks with President Goodluck Jonathan on the implementation of EITI in Nigeria and the wider implications on the oil, gas and mining sector reforms.
She is also scheduled to have consultations with high-ranking government officials, the legislature, development partners, the media and civil society groups in Nigeria’s oil.
