Ongoing Constitution Review’ll Not Be Affected By National Confab – Senate

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Media, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, said the constitutional issues arising from the national dialogue would not affect the constitution review by the National Assembly.

Abaribe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Monday that the National Assembly would not stop its ongoing constitution review on account of the national dialogue.
He was reacting to concerns in some quarters that the National Assembly might have to suspend the ongoing constitution review to allow it capture constitutional matters that could arise from the confab.
He said the constitution review was a continuous process and any relevant constitutional issue from the national dialogue would be included in the constitution.
