Chukwueke to Okorocha: Give us Imo financial records
Governor
Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has been challenged to publish the
financial report or statement of the state since he assumed office in
2011.

A
top Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Jerry
Chukwueke who gave the challenge in Owerri on Saturday while speaking to
newsmen, wondered why the governor decided to ignore such sensitive
issue.
Chukwueke
added that the people of Imo state want to know what the governor used
over N276billion that came into the state since June 2011 for.
“Imo
state has received in the excess of 276billion naira in allocation,
derivation, excess crude funds, local governments fund, SURE-P, ecology.
Take a look at what is on ground and compare it with such monumental
funds, can Gov. Okorocha actually tell Imo people what he has done with
the financial resources of Imo state?
“He
has never published any financial report or statement. He has produced
no accounts, no financial statement of any kind, Imo people don't know
the financial position of their state.
“You
know why he has not published it? It is because he has no records. He
publicly said that due process is a waste of time, so he operates
without any records, he has no records of what come in.
“In
any business, the first thing you learn is about income and
expenditure; we don't have it in Imo state. Can the governor show us how
he deployed the funds that come into Imo state?
“There
is no record, he keeps no record of contractors, keeps no record of
revenue, keeps no record of his expenditures, there are no records, so
he is unable to publish a financial statement, the least he owes Imo
people”, Chukwueke stressed
