Ajunwa still jumping to glory: Alongside Onunkwo, bags Ebube Ndi Igbo of Lagos
Others that were also decorated Ebube Ndigbo on the occasion, included Senator Hope Uzodinma, HRH Eze Ngozi Ibekwe, Chief Ebere Ubani, Prince Harry Ugochukwu Amam, Comfort Obi, Police Service Commission, Nwabueze C Obi, President General of Ohanaeze in Abuja, Hon. Ibrahim Igomu, Mr. Emeka Okoroanyanwu, CSP Benjamin Osuji and Madam Josephine C. Anyanwu; while Dr Nick Eze was installed Mma agha ndi Igbo.
Ihembosi, Anambra State-born Chief Onunkwo, who is also Eze ndi Igbo of Benin Republic, holds the traditional title of Odozi-obodo 1, and is CEO of Bukas International conglomerate. Interestingly, despite being an Ohaneze ndi Igbo-organised event, the ceremony attracted countless Nigerians from other ethnic groups.
In deed, the Igbos proved once again that they are more cosmopolitan than many through their award to Ijaw-born Beyelsa Governor, Dr. Henry Seriake Dickson. Gov Dickson was honoured with an Igbo title, Ezienyi ka nwanne, on the occasion. Although HE Seriake Dickson was unavoidably absent, his representatives at the event received the award on the governor’s behalf.
The investiture, which took place at the Basketball Court, National Stadium, Lagos; was spearheaded by Sir Oliver Akubueze (Mmiri Igbo) and President of Ohanaeze ndi Igbo in Lagos State. Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, among numerous other dignitaries witnessed the crowd-puller of an event.
A snappy roll call of heavyweights that graced the occasion with their presence, included APGA flagbearer in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State, Dr Willie Obiano (Oputa Obie Ndigbo); and, Admiral (retired) Ndubuisi Kanu.
Other notable personalities at the event, included Barr Uwazulike, President, Aka Ikenga, Dr Silvan Ebigwei, former president of Aka Ikenga, Chief Ogene, Ohanaeze National Publicity Secretary; Tony Ohakwe, President of all Towns’ Unions’ Presidents in Lagos State; Chief Victor Umeh (Osuofia Ndigbo); Senator Hope Uzodinma (Oputa Obie Ndigbo); Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Safety Agency (NIMASA), Eze Okpotemba, Eze IC Dimgba, Patron of Ndi Eze in Diaspora; and, Chief Ossai Onyemere.
