Abductors Of Ex-Bayelsa Commissioner’s Six Year Old Son Demand N50m Ransom

kidnappingKidnappers of Olali, the six-year-old son of former chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Area and ex-Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development in Bayelsa State, Mr. Godknows Powell, have demanded N50 million as ransom.
Information Nigeria reports that the boy was abducted on New Year day at the Etegwe suburb of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa capital by some gunmen while returning from a church service with his mother.
However, after days of incommunicado, the kidnappers, weekend, finally contacted the victim’s family with their demands.
According to a security source, the abductors whose whereabouts were still unknown warned the victim’s family against involving security agencies in their negotiations.
The source added: “We know the kidnappers will reduce their ransom. It is their normal practice. They always place high amount of money on their victims only to reduce it later through negotiation”.
He also stated that the police are working round the clock to ensure the boy is released unharmed.
