Jim Iyke’s deliverance creates buzz

Recently, star actor, Jim Iyke was at Pastor T.B Joshua’s Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) where he underwent a deliverance session. The video of Jim’s deliverance conducted by one of Joshua’s younger pastors has gone viral on You Tube and countless other websites. If it had been a less dramatic personality who was in the ubiquitous clip, many would have termed it heart rendering or embarrassing.
It is not everyday regular folks see a flamboyant star reduced to a supposedly demon-possessed person snarling at those exorcising him of the foul spirits inhabiting his body. Ideally, fans should be worried sick or at best, they should be celebrating the stylish actor’s new lease of life. But with dozens of films in which Jim successfully portrayed bad-boy roles and his many controversies that he never failed to address in his inimitably defiant style, some people have termed the deliverance clip as the latest stunt from the actor.
Across the continent where both Jim and Pastor Joshua are closely followed, the reactions     to the deliverance are mixed. And it seems that it will continue to be so
. It is, however, not surprising that the harshest criticisms over the entire episode are coming from Nigeria and Ghana where Jim’s current girlfriend, Nadia Buari comes from. Folks from the former Gold Coast are angry that the actress has gotten herself involved with someone who could sheepishly submit himself for deliverance. Surely, the last has not been heard about the latest drama by the Nollywood bad boy.
