Teacher SELLOTAPED Mouths of 10-year-olds To Keep Them Quiet
Furious parents claimed art and Spanish teacher Priscila Davo dished out the shock punishment because the 10 and eleven-year-olds in her class were noisy.
Mum Stacey Bradbury, 28, claimed her son Thomas, 10, was one a number of pupils targeted.
She claimed: “Some of the boys ended up with quite a lot of Sellotape over their mouths.
“At the end of the lesson they were allowed to take it off but the teacher said this was what was going to happen every time they were noisy.
“My son had the little hairs on his upper lip pulled off by the tape when he took it off. Most people know how painful and horrible that is.
“There are so many other ways to discipline children.”
Thomas added: “Some people had a really bad rash and some girls had their lips bleeding.”
Pupil Ryan Knowles, 11, claimed Ms Davo put seven pieces of tape over his mouth for 25 minutes.
He claimed: “She lined us all up. I was saying to her ‘why are you doing this?’ I’m scared now about going back into her class.
“I don’t know what she might do next.”
Lisa Duffield, 42, claimed her daughter Ella, 11, is refusing to go into class with the teacher again.
She claimed: “It’s disgusting. Ella is quite sensitive. I’ve been told the kids are going to get a full apology from the teacher.
“I hope so.”
Children were sent home from Danesfield Church of England School in Williton, Somerset, with a letter from head Ian Bradbury confirming the suspension and a probe.
The letter said: “We take what has happened to be entirely wrong.”
Mr Bradbury added: “We take all allegations about the wellbeing of children very seriously.”
Teacher Catrin Williams has been suspended for six months pending an investigation into claims she “appeared drunk” to teach a class of children as young as seven at Ysgol yr Esgob Primary School in Caerwys, Flintshire.
